Understanding Pigmentation Concerns

Freckles (Ephelis)

Freckles are small, flat, light-brown spots caused by UV exposure or genetics, commonly found on sun-exposed areas like the cheeks, nose, shoulders, and upper arms. While harmless, they often darken with prolonged sun exposure and are more common in individuals with fair skin and lighter hair tones.

Hori’s Nevus

Hori’s nevus manifests as bluish-gray or light-brown spots, typically symmetrical and located on the cheekbones. This type of pigmentation often affects Asian women aged 20–30 and originates from deep dermal layers, requiring specialized laser treatments for effective reduction.

Solar Lentigines (Sunspots)

Solar lentigines, or age spots, are larger brown patches caused by long-term sun exposure. These appear on areas like the face and hands, especially in middle-aged or older individuals. While benign, they can create an uneven or prematurely aged appearance.

How We Treat Pigmentation at BSL Clinic

At BSL Clinic, we specialize in an integrated approach to treating pigmentation concerns, combining cutting-edge laser technologies with expert care. Whether you’re addressing freckles, deep pigmentation, or sunspots, our tailored treatments deliver precise, safe, and effective results.

1. Freckles

Freckles are lightened using advanced laser technologies that target melanin—the root cause of pigmentation—without damaging surrounding skin. Our approach combines precision treatments to fade freckles in about 3 sessions, leaving your skin clearer and smoother.

2. Hori’s Nevus:

Deep pigmentation like Hori’s nevus requires targeted lasers that penetrate the dermis, breaking down pigment granules for natural elimination by your body. This process restores bright, even-toned skin in approximately 6 sessions, without causing thinning or sensitivity.

3. Solar Lentigines (Sunspots):

Sunspots caused by long-term sun exposure can be significantly reduced or completely cleared using our advanced laser combinations. Results typically appear within 1–3 sessions, with full improvements visible in 7–14 days, restoring vibrant, youthful skin.

Treatment
Time Frame

BSL Clinic’s laser pigmentation removal takes about 10 to 30 minutes. The enriched nano whitening cream (nano white) helps brighten the skin and prevents melanin production.

There are four stages involved in preventing new melanin production:

This pigment laser treatment is painless, but you may feel a tingling sensation during the process. Cold air at -40 degrees Celsius is sprayed on the targeted area to increase comfort during the treatment.

After Treatment Precautions

There is no downtime, and the patient can return to daily activities immediately. A minor pinkish area may appear but will fade within 24 hours. The patient should wash their face normally without scrubbing. Avoid sun exposure for 5 to 7 days after treatment. If the patient is in the sun, they must apply sunscreen for protection.

Using a tailored dual-laser approach, the treatment precisely targeted her pigmentation, breaking down pigment clusters into tiny particles that her immune system naturally cleared. This advanced process effectively reduced dark spots, prevented further darkening, and preserved the surrounding skin, ensuring no thinning or sensitivity.
